"I Quit My Job" | JOB TESTIMONY | The Power of Prayer & Fasting

Have you ever believed God for something that was crazy & impossible? 🤯😵😖

Well friends it has been a while indeed. We just moved into our new home 🏘️ (Yay! A story for another time). 🎉🥳 Today I want to share with you how I quit my job BEFORE I had another job.

Spoiler alert: I started my new job last Monday (6/7/2021).

To give you some of my backgrounds:

I started working for M.I.Air Aviation Education, a flight school at Chino Airport, California in the month of June of 2020. I am very grateful for the opportunity to work there, especially when the pandemic happened last year. Working there allowed me to have a better understanding of the different flight programs a student had to go through in order to become a commercial pilot.

One of my favorite moments was working with multiple student pilots and certified flight instructors, (YES, especially since the majority of them are Korean, handsome, friendly, and intelligent) LOL okay Sharon, focus. 😏

So as I was saying, I was very fortunate to have this job after I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona. #ClassOfCovid I mean, #ClassOf2020 👩🏻‍🎓 Go Broncos! 🐴

So why did I resign? Well, it's because I was only working there part-time. They offer part-time since most of the students are still in Korea, and the school has not been busy since the pandemic. In the meantime, I’ve also been helping my uncle’s packaging company, so thank God I can still have enough income to pay my monthly bills.

Then last month, in May, my brother bought a house. Of course, I want to do my part to help pay the monthly fee, especially since this is not an apartment or a rental home, it’s our permanent home.

In the middle of May, I felt this impression from the Lord to quit my job. I said, “Lord, why would I quit if I don’t have a new job to move to yet?” Usually, people will quit their previous job once they have a new one, right? But IDK. He just simply said that my time at MI Air is finished and that He will provide a new job opportunity for me.

Based on my previous experiences with God, I decided to obey the guidance of the Holy Spirit and to quit my current job. I knew if I disobeyed His instruction, it will only delay the process of me receiving His best.

It's not just a matter of obeying God's instruction but how quickly you are willing to obey Him, in spite of not knowing what will happen next.

I was so nervous. Was this crazy? Yep, I’ve never done this before. Again, stepping out of my comfort zone and going into the unknown. I kind of panicked too since I transferred all of my savings to help pay the deposit fee for our new home. Did I have any backup plans? Nope.

Then again I remembered how our faith can only grow in the seasons of uncertainty. We can say much about how a grain of mustard seed can move mountains, but what's our response when we are actually facing impossible obstacles in front of our very eyes?

"And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists & that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Hebrews 11:6

When it's hard to make sense of anything, I recall all the things that God has done for me in the previous seasons, and to hold fast unto His promises.

One of the key verses I've been meditating on is 1 Peter 5:10, "After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing & favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, & establish you [making you what you ought to be.]

I’ve seen God move over my life year after year, so why should I doubt Him this time?

When you’re in tune with the Holy Spirit, you won’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. You’ve got nothing to lose if you just BELIEVE. 💖

I was also reminded how God told Abraham to get out of his home country and to go to a land where God will show him. (Genesis 12:1,2) Abraham didn’t ask God where, why, or how. Instead, he just obeyed. That is crazy faith. Going and moving to a place where he doesn’t even know yet.

What did I do then? I decided to fast for 3 days on May 19th, 20th, and 21st.

Before the first day of fasting, I received a 1MM from Ps. Steven Furtick (a daily email of “1:Minute Motivation”) with the title “Outgrow what you know to become who you really are.”

|| Wednesday 5/19 || DAY 1️⃣ of Fasting

• Daily Devotional on JESUS, MY FAITH. What part can I play in my walk of faith? Just BELIEVE. Believe in the name of Jesus and the One who was sent for your faith to be started and totally completed.

• "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Hebrews 12:1‭-‬2 NKJV

• So where do you find your faith? "Looking unto JESUS." Jesus is the One who makes your faith complete.

🗣️ Declaration Prayer 🗣️

“JESUS, You are My Faith

I thank You that all I have to do is believe.

You are the Author & Finisher of my faith and because of You, I lack nothing. I put all my faith in who You are & in Your name that is above it all. I choose to look to You for everything that I will ever need. Thank you, in the name of Jesus, Amen!”

On the 19th, my director at MI Air offered me a raise with more responsibility, but unfortunately, it will still be a part-time job. I thanked her for the opportunity and told her how I planned on giving my two weeks notice on Sunday (5/23).

On Thursday the 20th, my aunt sent me a job opening at Emtek, which I applied for that same day.

On Friday the 21st, I had my first online interview with the procurement manager at Emtek.

The next week I had a phone call interview with the same company, but a different department which was customer service (CSR).

Then by the end of that following week, I was scheduled for my second interview on Wednesday, June 2nd.

My brother and I were moving to our new home during that Memorial Weekend: (May 28th-31st).

The first week of June (1st-4th) was my last week at MI Air, so you can imagine how nervous I was about this interview since it will determine the future of my employment status.

I was scheduled to have my second interview in person for the customer at their Irwindale office at 8 am and had my second interview with the director of the supply chain at 4 pm online.

Honestly, I wanted the procurement position because it’s something that sparks an interest in me especially in dealing with numbers, excel sheets/data, and working with vendors. I wouldn’t complain if I got the customer service too since I love people nonetheless. But I just thought “wouldn’t it be nice and interesting to be in a new department that I have never been in before...”

One of the reasons why the director of chain supply wanted to interview me was because I was lacking the work experience for this position. However, the manager who interviewed me in the previous week said that they are willing to train me if I do well in my second interview with the director.

Well, I had nothing to lose, either position would have been okay with me, as long as I have a full-time job haha. That week I decided to fast again and seek the Lord’s guidance for my second interview. I know that it’s not by my own might, power, or wisdom, but by His spirit that works in me.

I told the Lord, “Lord, you know my heart’s desire, I may not be qualified or am lacking the experience for the procurement coordinator position. I trust Your will and decision for my life. Whatever Your will is for me, I ask for your favor and grace to overflow in me and throughout my interview, so that I can secure either position before my last day at MI Air.”

After I prayed, I had peace of mind and an understanding that I will get both positions.

Tuesday 6/1 (The Day Before My 2nd Interview)

Saw this Daily msg from Ps. Steven Furtick titled "Tomorrow is God's Job." Like what???? Tomorrow is my second interview... Honestly, I have been super nervous about it. But this simple reminder is truly what I needed to hear and see. It's as if the Lord was saying "Child don't you worry! If I've given you and your brother the house that you need, what more won't I give you?"

At that moment, I just received everything by faith.

Wednesday came (6/2) and I had my interview with the customer service (CSR) manager. The CSR manager said that they will let me know by Friday if I got the position or not. Then around 3:30 pm that same day, as I was preparing for my second interview , the CSR left a voicemail message telling me to call her back as soon as possible. So I did, and she said that they are ready to move forward with my application because they didn’t want another department to take me.

I was grateful for the opportunity, but I asked her if I can respond to her offer by tomorrow since I have another interview coming up. She said yes.

Now I was trying to figure out how in the world would I ask the director to give me their decision by the next day. I didn't want to come out rude or demanding. So I called my aunt, and she gave me some wise advice to just be honest about my current situation.

I went on my second interview online with the director, and at the end of the interview, I asked him “How soon will I know your decision about this position? It’s because I have another job position that I have to respond to by 12 o’clock tomorrow afternoon.”

Then he asked me “Well which position are you interested in?,” and I said “This one of course…(lol awkward laugh.)” And he said, “Good, good” Then afterward, the director just said that he will inform the manager to contact me to make sure the hiring process will go smoothly. Hence, I can start working ASAP.

Thursday and Friday came around. I trained the new dispatcher at MI Air, while also finishing all of the required application forms and drug tests so that I can start working at Emtek the next Monday (6/7/2021).

Through this experience, I can humbly and boldly say that our GOD is SO SO SO FAITHFUL! It still amazes me to this day to think that I got two job offers on that same day. GOD is so kind and gracious! He is faithful to provide TWO jobs even before my TWO weeks have ended.

And even this week as I was working, all I can say is "WOW GOD, you do give the very BEST!"

The moment I walked into the building I could already sense this special, family-friendly vibe at my workplace. The co-workers and managers there are so energetic, positive, caring, and patient; especially in training someone who has absolutely zero background in this type of work.

God made a way when there seems to be no way! He qualifies the unqualified to show that He is the almighty God who opens the doors no man can shut. He is the God who goes above and beyond what our hearts can ever comprehend.

I am overflowing with gratitude, joy, and thanksgiving because this opportunity could only happen with the help of the Holy Spirit.

What are you going through currently, friends? Are there some breakthroughs and prayers you are waiting for God to answer? May your hearts be tender and responsive to the leading of the Holy Spirit as He guides you to make that next step in becoming who God has called you to be.

Don’t doubt God just because it doesn’t make sense. If it makes sense to you, it may not be God’s best for you.

The thing is: God mainly specializes in the impossible situation of our life. What is impossible for man, it is possible for God. The glory and honor all belong to Christ, we are simply His vessels and ambassadors.

One truth I have learned these past few weeks is that our Heavenly Father delights in blessing His children. He longs to show Himself strong, powerful, and wonderful to all of His beloved sons & daughters.

Psalm 145:16 says "You [GOD] open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing."

And of course one of my favorite treasure verses, "Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

Your desire, hope, and dream don’t scare God for we serve a big, powerful, and almighty God. Our part is to simply believe and obey His every instruction.

What are some things that are stopping you in your journey of faith today? Is it doubt, unbelief, trauma, past experiences, or disappointments?

My prayer is that you will begin to experience the power, authority, and anointing of God in your daily life. Ask the Lord to help you break away from the chain of bondage and to become all that God has called you to become!

When you know and live out the truth of God’s word, no lies from the enemy can dictate the purpose and plan God has for you. You and I have been chosen to live a fulfilling and favorable life full of God’s wonderful promises! ✨

Encounter God’s perfect love & discover the power of your faith through prayer & fasting!

With love & compassion,

Sharon 🥰❤️
